ACCESSION NUMBERS

To search for accession numbers in Voyager, search or browse by "Call Number" and heading Types Filter "Other":

Musical Compact Discs (record type "j")

• Add accession numbers in ascending order to 852 $h
• Add  852 $i cd
• When the CD packaging exceeds 13 cm (5 1/2 in.) in height, also add 852 $i oversize
• The list of accession numbers are currently tracked manually in a document
• As of June 3, 2020, the last accession number used was: 21132 cd

Examples:

Musical 12 Inch Discs (LPs)

• Add accession numbers in ascending order to 852 $h
• Add suffix "st" (for stereophonic) to accession number
• Do not add suffix if it explicitly states that disc is monophonic
• Add suffix "qd" when disc is quadrophonic
• The list of accession numbers are currently tracked manually in a document
• As of June 3, 2020, the last accession number used was: 21134st

CALL NUMBERS

Spoken Word Sound Discs (record type "i")

• Create LC call number, including date
• Add 852 $i cd
• When CD packaging exceeds 13 cm (5 1/2 in.) in height, also add 852 $i oversize
• When cataloguing a recording of a work (usually literary) of which there is already a print copy in Voyager, use the print call number and "12" to the last cutter
