Reference Workroom Materials

Location code ref,wkrm
Location name Reference Workroom
Rubric
Ref
Workroom
Item type nocirc
  • Materials designated for Reference Workroom are for staff use only and are usually NOT sent for binding.
  • The Reference Workroom Holdings record should always be suppressed.
  • If the Reference Workroom copy is the only holdings, then the Bib record should also be suppressed.
  • NOTE: May be found in older records, but as of Nov.2018-  we will no longer add a |x non-public note to the Hldgs 852 stating any further details regarding exactly where the book is shelved.  Any material designated for Reference Workroom may move around within that Workroom.  (This change applies to ref, wkrm holdings only; tec holdings may still specify exact shelving location, if not shelved within Technical Services Rm260)

Processing (to be completed by Cataloguer)

  • Rubric on verso of t.p. and on call number label*:
Ref

  • Label “FOR USE IN LIBRARY ONLY” (generally affixed to the front cover, just below the barcode)

*NOTES re. Call number label creation:
Change the label printer font size to 12
(The word “Workroom” will not fit on the label at our usual, 14 size)
Don’t forget to change the label printer font size back to 14 afterwards!

  • Cataloguer delivers completed, processed items to the table in the Reference Workroom/Learning & Research area.*  (Currently the table is in the same area as the photocopier, supply cupboard, etc.)
