Community start up

Preparation:

  • UVicSpace staff contacts a potential community, or a potential community contacts UVicSpace to discuss the advantages of the institutional repository.
  • UVicSpace staff will provide a presentation/demonstration to groups upon request.
  • UVicSpace documentation is made available (policy documents, work flow options, etc.).
  • Community names a community coordinator (if possible).

Community defines and provides:

  • Community page information and logo.
  • Collection access policies.
  • Defaults for meta data submission form.
  • Collection page(s) information and logo.
  • Sub-community page(s) information and logo.
  • Completed work flow form for each collection: work flow details, and a list of authorized people for each work flow role (submitter, reviewer, meta data editor, coordinator).

UVicSpace provides:

  • The community web page.
  • Sub-community web page(s).
  • Collection web page(s).
  • Authorization to submit.
  • Access control as agreed upon with the community.
  • Work flow roles authorizations.
  • Training session(s) as requested by the community.
