Information about using UVic's Learning & Research Repository - UVicSpace

Submitting publications to UVicSpace

These instructions are for UVic researchers, faculty and staff. (Students with electronic theses and dissertations should follow the directions in the ETDs section.)

If you would like Library staff assistance in submitting your research publications to UVicSpace, you can can email a list of your publications (or their CV containing the list) or any items you would like added to UVicSpace to uvicspacehelp@uvic.ca.

Alternately, you can:

  1. Register for UVicSpace
  2. You will receive an email with a link from UVicSpace. After you click the link to complete the registration, you become an "e-person."
  3. Before archiving documents, you must contact Inba Kehoe to be authorized to submit to a collection.. If you are a faculty member, you will probably want to submit to a faculty publications collection.
  4. After you are authorized to submit to a collection, you can start archiving. Log in at My Account and click Submissions, then the "Start a New Submission" link.

What if I'm archiving previously published works?

Be sure to check and follow the publisher guidelines listed at the SHERPA RoMEO publisher policy website. Many publishers allow  some version of a previously published article to be deposited in an open access repository like UVicSpace, as long as you follow their conditions.
