The Royal Proclamation of 1763 is a significant historical document that established guidelines for European settlement and relations with Indigenous peoples in North America. Ensured by Section 25 of the Constitution Act within the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, the Aboriginal rights outlined in the Royal Proclamation are protected from termination or diminishment.
