Indigenous Hub

Overview

Human rights are protected by both federal and provincial/territorial legislation. Human rights tribunals in Canada are crucial bodies designed to address discrimination and protect human rights as outlined in human rights legislation.  Indigenous peoples in Canada have faced historical and ongoing systemic discrimination. Tribunals provide a formal mechanism to challenge these discriminatory practices.  They provide a public platform for Indigenous voices to be heard and for their experiences of discrimination to be formally recognized.
