Information about using the University of Victoria's institutional repository, UVicSpace

Before you deposit

  1. Ensure that your supervisor(s) has approved all corrections in your manuscript before submitting.
     
  2. Add a cover page to your file.
    Ensure proper formatting by following examples in the Faculty of Graduate Studies formatting checklist.
    NOTE: substitute "project" for "thesis."

     
  3. Create a UVicSpace account
    1. Go to dspace.library.uvic.ca.
    2. Click Log In --> New user? Click here to register.
    3. Type your email address --> click Register.
    4. You should be able to log in to your account now.

  4. Contact your department's graduate secretary for permission to submit
    They will add you as a submitter to the appropriate collection.

     
  5. Prepare the following:
    1. Your project abstract (as text to copy and paste into the submission form).
    2. Your final, complete project, with approved layout, and any other files (spreadsheets, images, et cetera) available for uploading. The file name should follow this convention:
      LastName_FirstName_Degree_CopyrightYear.pdf
