Open Science is a research reform movement in addition to a set of practices. Researchers, funders, and research organizations around the world strongly support Open Science because it enhances the transparency and rigour fundamental to scholarly progress. By making data, methods, and software openly available, it allows for greater reproducibility and enables the global research community to verify and build upon findings more efficiently, accelerating discovery. Furthermore, embracing open practices increases the visibility and potential impact of their work, contributing to a more equitable and accessible knowledge commons for both academia and the public.
Open Science facilitates sharing and collaboration, thereby accelerating the discovery process, improving research quality, and making science more impactful and central to human and societal development.
