Standards are a set of technical definitions and guidelines, basically "how to" instructions for designers, manufacturers and users. They promote safety, reliability, productivity, and efficiency in almost every industry that relies on engineering components or equipment. Standards are produced by scientific and professional organizations, trade organizations, and governments, nationally and internationally.
The library receives these standards in paper format and they are shelved in the Reference area at call number QC100/C3C2. An online index is available - click on Publications of the Canadian General Standards Board to browse Standards Index.
