Software available at library workstations

The computers in Library 130 on  the main floor of Mearns - McPherson Library have GIS software installed.
These workstations are available for drop-in use when the room is not occupied by a class.

Installed software

  • ArcGIS_Pro 3
  • Google Earth Pro 7.3.4
  • QGIS 3.20 

Software to install on your laptop

FOSS-GIS (free open source)

Examples: Quantum GIS, GRASS

NOTE: Contact geogspatial@uvic.ca to inquire about a student license to install ArcGIS_Pro on your own machine.

Equipment available for borrowing

We lend stereoscopes for 3D viewing of airphotos. Visit the Ask Us Desk to borrow one.
