UVic Libraries subscribe to hundreds of electronic databases. Databases are electronic indexes, including records that refer to electronic and print resources such as articles, books and data in a given subject/topic area. Please click on "Databases by subject" to find which databases to use for your topic. If you are not sure where to start, the subject guides provides annotations and guides on using databases.
The single-box search on library homepage provides a convenient one-stop discovery solution. Students may still need to use databases when their topics are less interdisciplinary or when they work on deep search within specific subject area.
