Workshop - Research Data Management for Reproducible Research

This lecture-style workshop evaluates the reproducibility crisis and discusses foundational data management practices that will help facilitate reproducible research to ensure your research project starts off right.

Research Data Management for Reproducible Research

Researchers across disciplines have been calling for reproducible research as an attainable minimum standard for assessing the value of scholarly claims, particularly when full independent replication of a study is not feasible. Making your research more reproducible pays off and is explicitly in the self-interest of every ambitious, career-oriented researcher.

Good research data management practices makes your research more reproducible and does the following:

  • Helps Avoid Disaster
  • Makes it Easier to Write Papers
  • Makes it Easier to Talk to Reviewers
  • Enables Continuity of Your Work
  • Helps Build Your Reputation

This workshop is also available asynchronously (https://uviclibraries.github.io/rdm-and-reproducibility/) and contains videos, slides, and external links for additional learning.
