Book Search Tips

To do a Book & Media search, what will you put in the search box? Here are some tips:

  • Boolean operators are recommended for topic search. Use the three boolean operators "and", "or", "not" to connect your keywords, e.g. (language and policy) not America
  • Quotation marks are used for phrase search, e.g. "Great French Revolution" and women
  • If you search with a person's name, use the format:  last name, first name or first name initial. e.g. Shaw, Bernard
