Nursing: Evidence Based Practice Resources

What is PubMed

PubMed is a service of the US National Library of Medicine that

  • Provides free access to MEDLINE®, the NLM® database of indexed citations and abstracts to medical, nursing, dental, veterinary, health care, and preclinical sciences journal articles
  • Includes additional selected life sciences journals not in MEDLINE
  • Adds new citations Tuesday through Saturday

* PubMed also contains in-process citations which provide a record for an article before it is indexed with MeSH and added to MEDLINE or converted to out-of-scope status. Note that in-process citations do NOT have MESH headings.
