Learning is not always easy. Workload, competing priorities and your life outside of school can sometimes feel like a lot to deal with. We know that the following stressors or conditions can cause students to look for shortcuts in their academic work:
- When you have an opportunity to cheat
- When you believe you are disadvantaged if they don't ("everyone is doing it") or when you believe you'll get a better grade if you cheat
- When you aren't interested or engaged in a class or assignment, or don't see the point of it - lack of engagement
- When you lack the skills to do the assignment
All students - even the 'best' students - can feel this temptation, especially when there are opportunities all around, and these are widely advertised!
