The Graduate Writers' Skill-building Group is a free program offering multiple opportunities for grad students working on a major project to build research- and writing-related skills in an informal atmosphere where peers can share or work independently.
Starting with an introductory get-together with refreshments and ending with a wrap-up social in the library, participants have multiple optional opportunities each week to take part in writing groups, discussion groups, and workshops on a variety of topics.
Consider also participating in the upcoming Thesis Writers' Intensive.

The Digital Scholarship Commons on the third floor of the McPherson Library offers free workshops both in-person and on Zoom. Want to attend a workshop that doesn't fit into your schedule? Many are available as self-guided lesson plans. Grad students can also book consultations with librarians for research-related questions.

Grad Students Conversation Circle is a confidential facilitated space on Zoom for UVic graduate students to learn, share, and connect with one another. It will start September and run bi-weekly into November. Registration is not required, and students can drop in.
