3D Printing Services at UVic Libraries

Learn about the process for requesting 3D-printed models at UVic Libraries and frequently asked questions about 3D printing.

What is your policy for personal or commercial projects?

Personal projects are permitted and encouraged. Academic projects are prioritized to try to ensure that they can be completed before assignment deadlines.

We cannot guarantee that last minute submissions will be completed by requested deadlines. This includes academic deadlines. Depending on the scope of your project, providing as much lead time as possible.

Non-academic projects may be limited to 35 hours per month. Hours are tracked by DSC staff upon submission of files through the DSC website. During quieter times DSC staff may allow students to submit additional projects.

All projects submitted through the DSC should be for academic, personal, and prototyping purposes. Commercial projects are not permitted. If you have questions about the eligibility of your project, please contact us at dscommons@uvic.ca
