This guide outlines resources held by UVic Libraries on the teaching of Social Studies using British Columbia's K-12 curriculum.

Your course instructors are the best sources of information for an introduction to the teaching of Social Studies in BC schools.  Ask them for their recommendations for useful introductory resources.

For a sense of current research in language immersion, check out this video of Prof. Fred Genesee.  Prof. Genesee is a professor at McGill and studies alternative forms of bilingual and immersion education; his current research interests include language acquisition in pre-school bilingual children, cross-language adopted children, and the language and academic development of students at-risk in bilingual programs.
