Using citation managers to help with the research and writing process

Looking for a less time-intensive solution for generating citations?

What makes citation managers different than citation generators is their ability to integrate with word processing software (like Microsoft Word), providing the capability to drop citations into your paper while you write.

Citation generators are a more basic version of a citation manger. They provide the basic functionality of generating a citation for a resource on demand, and with very little effort on your part.  With the click of a few buttons 'voila!' you have a citation.

If you're looking for something that can generate a citation quickly and easily, consider using a citation generator, particularly if you're working on short papers that don't require a lot of references.
