If you would like help, email your subject librarian, Sarah McGill (sarahmcgill@uvic.ca), or book an appointment here (https://libcal.uvic.ca/appointments/sarahmcgill). I can help you with:

  • Searching for and writing literature or narrative reviews.
  • Searching for and planning evidence syntheses such as systematic reviews, rapid reviews, and scoping reviews.
  • Selecting and searching journal databases, including developing advanced search skills or giving search feedback.
  • Finding specific types of information such as datasets, images, patents, conference abstracts, guidelines, statistics, 3D printing models.
  • Advice on software such as for systematic review screening, citation managers, and data analysis.
  • Practical research data skills such as writing a data management plan (DMP).
  • UVic data deposit, for example if required for your grant or publication.
