Digital Scholarship Commons offers badges as recognition for the completion of various workshops. Digital Badges are also known as informal credentials. The goal of badging is to provide users the opportunity to share their skills with the public. Digital Badges can act as a portfolio whereby the platform documents learning. To earn a DSC workshop badge complete the following:

You should receive the badge you requested within 5-10 business days. In order to accept your badge, an account with that same email address on Badgr needs to be created
The DSC uses the Badgr badging system. The Badgr Badging system provides a convenient way to store badges in an online “Backpack”. It also organizes badges in ways that make them easier to share. To sign up for Badgr, go to their website click on the Create an Account button, and follow the instructions provided.
