Alternative Metrics

This guides provide an introduction and overview of alternative metrics and how to use the tool Altmetric Explorer.

Access
University of Victoria students, staff, and faculty can use Altmetric Explorer via IP access; however you will need to register for an account (using your UVic email address) in order to save searches or create alerts and shareable reports.

Sign up for Altmetric Explorer


Click the screenshot below or visit https://www.altmetric.com/explorer/login 
to create your account using your UVic email address.


You will receive a registration email in your inbox. 
Click Register for the Altmetric Explorer in your email to complete your registration. 

Invite links must be used within 1 month.
Please email support@altmetric.com if you need to be issued with a new invite link.


Sign-in using your @uvic.ca email address and the password you chose.
