Interlibrary loan (ILL) = Resource Sharing

In Alma, interlibrary loan activities are referred to as Resource Sharing. 

BibID = Metadata Management System ID (MMS ID) 

The MMS ID (Metadata Management System ID) is the record ID number and is equivalent to the BibID in Voyager.

Each MMS ID is made up of the following:

• 99 - Always begins with the 2-digit prefix code '99' that identifies the record as a bibliographic record
• The next sequence of numbers are the unique part of the record number
• The last 4 digits are the institution code

Metadata = Resource Management

In Alma, resource management comprises the administration of the library's many resources and search-related activities. 

From Ex Libris' Introduction to Resource Management, Resource Management comprises the following workflow/sections:

• Metadata Management – cataloguing
• Inventory – creating and managing inventory:
  • Physical -  creating and managing physical inventory such as books and serials. 
  • Electronic - creating and managing electronic inventory such as e-journal, e-book, or streaming video. 
• Record Import – importing bibliographic and authority records by creating, editing, viewing, copying, deleting, and running import profiles.
• Advanced Tools – collection analysis and repository management activities
• Publishing – managing profiles for publishing content to external resources

Circulation = Fulfillment

In Alma, circulation functions are referred to as Fulfillment.

From Ex Libris' Introduction to Fulfillment, fulfillment is described as the process by which patrons borrow and return physical resources, or access electronic or digital resources, from the institution.
