Zotero (zoh-TAIR-oh) is a free research tool and citation manager.
With Zotero, you can:
- Create, store and manage research sources
- Automatically create and format bibliographies, in-text citations and footnotes in your papers
- Add notes, tags, and PDF's to your research sources
- And much more!
Zotero software can be installed onto your computer's hard drive. You can also download a browser extension so you can capture sources from online databases, catalogs, Google, and more.
You can also create a Zotero.org account and use the cloud to synchronize your data across a variety of devices, but be aware that this means your data will be hosted on U.S. servers.
