Find Sources

This is a self-paced research guide to finding sources for your assignments.

Getting started finding sources

A student looks for information in a library book

After you've read and understood your research assignment and planned how you'll work, you'll need to start finding sources.  Your search strategy will have a big impact on what you find, as well as how much time and stress is involved.

For instance, did you know that you can use many common search strategies, like Boolean operators, in our online catalogue--but that the sources you find will be very different from what you'd see in Google?

Take a few minutes to learn how to find the types of sources that will help you get good marks on your research assignments.
