Evaluate What You Find

This is a self-paced research guide to evaluating the sources you find for your assignments.

Getting started evaluating sources

A student holds an open book in the library.

In our increasingly digital world, it's more important than ever to think critically about the information that you encounter as you do research.

Before you use a source in your assignment,  you should evaluate it for bias, credibility, and relevance.  Some kinds of sources are important to evaluate in other ways as well.  Finally, peer review is a key process to understand as you engage in academic research.

Use our tools to help you understand which sources are the best for your assignments.
