Indigenous Community Development and Governance (ICDG)

A research guide for the ICDG program

What is Summon?

Summon is a "discovery layer" (fancy word for search engine) that helps you discover relevant information on any topic from the University of Victoria Libraries collections. It searches through our collection of books, scholarly journals, newspaper articles, e-books, dissertations, videos, maps, manuscript collections, music scores and more.  Rather than searching for all of these things in separate databases, Summon provides a single unified search box.

Watch the short video below to see how it works.

Because ICDG research topics can vary widely, a search tool like Summon is a good place to start as it will search across all topics and give you a sense of what the library has.
