Legal Citation Styles

If you require help with your citations, the Law Librarians are available to answer any questions you have about legal citation. Contact the Law Library Reference Service via phone, email, by appointment or at the Reference Desk.

A commonly accepted citation standard for Canadian legal writing is The Canadian Guide to Uniform Legal Citation. It is often known as the McGill Guide. The McGill Guide is in its 8th edition and is available in the library.
