UVic Awards

Craigdarroch Research Awards celebrates research excellence across campus by honouring the achievements of individuals and teams and those who may contribute to the further diversification of the University of Victoria.

President's Distinguished Service Awards celebrates outstanding contributions of university employees to the betterment of the university and its community.

Ralph Schuerle Staff Service Excellence Award to recognize and celebrate the achievements of staff within the office in support of research and research services, including community outreach.

Awards for Librarians

Association for Library and Information Science Education (ALISE) offers awards that promote innovation and excellence in research, teaching, and service for educators and scholars in Library and Information Science and cognate disciplines internationally through leadership, collaboration, advocacy, and dissemination of research.

The Council on Library and Information Resources (CLIR) is an independent, nonprofit organization that forges strategies to enhance research, teaching, and learning environments in collaboration with libraries, cultural institutions, and communities of higher learning. Their awards and fellowships webpage offers many different funding opportunities for librarians and their institutions.

International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) offers a number of fellowships, funds, and grants to enable aspiring library and information professionals from all over the world to enhance their training and to provide funding for new and exciting projects in the field of librarianship.

American Library Association (ALA) provides funding or material support for present or future activities. Grants may be offered to support the planning and implementation of programs, aid in the preparation of a dissertation or other publications, and to promote research in library and information sciences. Grants are also given to support travel to conferences, such as the ALA Annual Conference, or other events that can broaden an individual's experience or education in librarianship.

Google Research Awards program aims to identify and support world-class, full-time faculty pursuing researchin areas of mutual interest.
